Camera movement and editing

 1) Pick three aspects of camera movement in the Minority Report clip. Identify the type of camera movement and write about why the director chose to use that camera movement in the scene and what effect it has on the audience

the three movement that the director has chosen is crane ,tilt, handheld. The director has chosen these is because the director wanted it to feel more real and more alive

2) Pick two aspects of editing in the Minority Report clip and write about what effect it has on the audience.
one aspects is that there was many cuts in the clip and it shows what is going on in the clips and anther aspects is that there is only one fade in the clip shows us more than one thing at a time

3) Finally, revise last week's work on camerawork by picking out two shots or camera angles in the clip that communicate meaning to the audience.
one camera angles is handheld this to to show us the person perspective on what is happening or going on anther one is crane is to shows us like a birds eye view . and one camera angles is two shot when the two or more people are in the shot and anther one is medium close up whe it ia only showing the shoulder and the face.

Mise-en-scene and task 3

 Task 3
The opening of Stranger Things sets the scene in a secret science lab in the 1980s and straight away shows that the genre is sci-fi and horror. We see a man in a white lab coat running down a dark corridor, which makes him look like a scientist in danger. The low lighting, flashing lights and metal doors create a tense and mysterious mood. The use of props like machines and security doors suggests experiments and secrecy. The actor’s fast movements and scared expression show that something has gone wrong. This communicates danger and fear, making the audience feel curious and uneasy about what is happening in the lab.

Stranger Things

Shows who the characters are and how they feel. Dark colours can mean sadness or danger, and make-up makes them look more realistic.

Sets the mood. Bright lighting feels happy or safe; dark lighting feels tense or scary. Warm colours show warmth or anger, cool colours show sadness or calm.

Close = connected, far apart = conflict.

Show where the scene happens and add meaning. A messy room might show stress, while certain props (like photos or weapons) tell us more about the story.

Nike

People wear modern streetwear — lots of casual outfits, hoodies, trainers. The clothes make it look like a regular crowd in the city, so the advert feels real.

It’s quite bright and colourful. The lighting makes everything clear, so you see faces and movement well. The mix of colours (shades of clothes, backgrounds) adds energy

Dancers move from among the crowd, they break out into dance. They’re placed among everyday people, so it surprises you when they dance. Some dance in the foreground, some behind — that layering gives depth.

The setting is a city street or public place crowded with people. Props are minimal — maybe phones, street signs, buildings — everyday objects. The normal surroundings contrast with the extraordinary dancing, making it more striking.

Denotation and connotation

  • This advertisement by WaterAid is a striking image of a young Black boy seated in a rural village setting to drive home the severe consequences that come with poor sanitation. His direct stare and serious expression right away bring into focus a sense of urgency and emotional weight. The worn blue shirt and modest surroundings suggest a community facing great resource shortages, which reinforces the message that basic needs-like safe toilets-are not being met.

The slogan "Dig toilets, Not graves" is bold and, when taken literally, provocative. By placing "toilets" and "graves" side by side, the ad uses dramatic contrast to show that inadequate sanitation is not just an inconvenience but can be lethal. This simple line transforms a public health issue into a life-or-death appeal, making the message easy to understand and hard to ignore.

The rural setting further reiterates that most resource-poor communities have no decent sanitation facilities. Then there is a child to personalize this issue-reminding the readers that the most vulnerable are often those the most affected. This combination of imagery and text works to evoke empathy, highlight the reality of preventable deaths, and encourage support of WaterAid's efforts in bringing safe sanitation into communities that need it most.

    key concept analysis

    Language:
The Fifth Road poster uses dark colours and a stormy sky to make it look mysterious and serious. The big bold title and the woman looking over the city show that the film might be about tension or deep emotions, like in a thriller or drama.

    Industry:
The line “A James Allen Stewart Film” makes it seem like it’s an independent movie made by a specific director. The layout, credits, and “Coming Soon” at the bottom make it look professional, like other movie posters we see in cinemas.

    Audience:
This film seems aimed at older teens and adults who like serious stories. The dark mood and city setting suggest it’s a mystery or drama, not an action or comedy movie.

    Representation:
The poster focuses on a woman standing alone, which could show independence, loneliness, or ambition. Having her in the middle of the image makes her seem important, and it looks like the story is about her personal journey or struggles.
